Since its establishment, BHCC has registered great achievements some of which include:
- Have provided counselling services to teenage moms in several higher learning Institutions. Some of these students were contemplating to abort the unborn child or even to end their lives but after coming into contact with BHCC, the students were reconciled with their parents and successfully delivered and went back to school to continue with their academics. To quote one of the beneficiary, “The BHCC has given me a second chance in life, when I met Pst. Susan, I was desperate and felt rejected but now I am happy that my child is well and I have gone back to the University. I am forever grateful to the Baton of Hope”.
- BHCC has provided mentorship forums for youth through youth friendly innovative strategies dubbed “Coffee Date with the Youths” and “BonFire”. Through this forums, the youths get an opportunity to open up and share their challenges and are facilitated by our counsellors and other professionals depending on the subject matter of the day.
- The BHCC has also provided HIV counseling and testing services targeting the adolescents and the youths. According to 2018 HIV estimates new HIV infections among 15-24-year age group contributed to 51%. HIV counselling and testing therefore provides an entry point for HIV prevention for those who are negative and referral to HIV care and treatment programs for those who are HIV infected.
- Online Pastoral Counselling where BHCC supports over 600 Pastors and Clergy either infected or affected by HIV and empowers them to provide counselling services to their congregations.
